Event: mQuit Service: Certified Smoking Cessation Service Provider (CSCSP) Workshop + OSCE

mQuit service is a collaborative effort from Ministry of Health, Academy of Pharmacy, Malaysian Pharmaceutical Society and Johnson & Johnson and various other NGOs for smoking cessation.  The main objective of this service is to carry out smoking cessation programme in Malaysia involving both public and private sector. Community pharmacy is an important channel for providing MQuit Service. Many pharmacists have gone through a Certified Smoking Cessation Service Provider course (CSCSP) conducted by MPS and the Academy.  This is to help pharmacists acquire additional skills to counsel smokers to quit smoking.  This was started since 2004.  This program has been developed with the assistance of the Department of Public Health of the Ministry of Health, C-Tob (Clearing House of Tobacco Control of the National Poison Center).

There are 2 parts to this programme.

A pre-requisite to attend is to have participated at the online CSCSP 7-module (Level 1) available at the Academy website. The Workshop (or Level 2) is the practical training using the Objective Structured Clinical Examination (OSCE). 

The refresher course to the CSCSP will be conducted in the morning, and afternoon will be the OSCE session
